Yes! I said PARIS! I spent the past weekend in Paris with Alyssa and some amazing new people that we met. It was everything I could have imagined for my first time there.
We started off the weekend flying into the Orly International Airport, and got to our hostel around 1am. We woke up and met all of the other college students in our group (and Kevi, our AWESOME guide for the weekend @leparisnoir) and headed to Sacré-Cœur, located on the top of a hill overlooking the city.
When I say 'breathtaking' I mean it.
Next, we headed to Notre Dame, and the Love Lock Bridge
Next stop: The Eiffel Tower!!
The first time seeing the Eiffel Tower was shocking. In pictures it looks like a normal size monument, but in person, it is MASSIVE. We went all the way to the 2nd floor, which is really like 25 stories, and overlooked all of Paris. We took the lift up and the climbed the stairs back down, which made me really dizzy, but it was SO worth it!
After going back down the Tower we went to dinner, and then split up into smaller groups to see it lit up. We sat on the grass with a bottle of wine and enjoyed every minute of looking at the mesmerizing view of the twinkling Eiffel Tower.
On Saturday we spent most of the morning at the Louvre, and then had some French pizza and sorbet, to finish off the evening.
In the afternoon we did a bike tour around Paris, and it was amazing!
Might I add that I don't speak one ounce of French, but I survived a few restaurantsand the metro. I had one of the most memorable weekends of my life this week, and I can't wait to explore more of Europe in the next few months. :)
