Welcome to my Portfolio! My name is Janet and I am a 23 year old English teacher from the New Hampshire Seacoast currently living in Madrid, Spain.

I grew up in a small town on the New Hampshire Seacoast in the United States.

Currently, I am an English Language Assistant (Auxiliar de Conversacion) at a public school in Madrid through the Ministry of Education at CEIP Blas de Lezo. I co-teach 1st and 3rd grade English, Natural Science, Social Science, and Arts. As an auxiliar, I help to facilitate lessons in the classroom, work with small groups on assignments, and do 1:1 or small group speaking and listening practice. I recently in June 2020, graduated from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares with a Masters Degree in International Education.

In 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Education and Policy through the Interdisciplinary Studies program at Plymouth State University. After graduating, I moved to Madrid to complete my masters degree, while simultaneously teaching English at a private international school in Madrid. My goal is to become a classroom teacher at an American school in Madrid.

I have travelled to more than 15 countries in my lifetime and I only plan to make that number grow! I love to travel, and through my blog I will share all of my tips and tricks on traveling to the best, unique, fun, intriguing, and cheap places.

I am super passionate about education and teaching. My philosophy as a teacher is to always foster the love of learning and put the education of the student first. To be nurturing and guide the students as they find their way in this world, while providing them with the necessary steps and resources to be the best they can be.
